ORGANIZER OF CLANDESTINE RACES - Sorry but we’ve got to run, tomorrow is the new year,
and we get drunk tonight, oh, really we get drunk!
But we’re all already tipsy, the fears will drown in gin,
so the big wings of speed will be on the shoulder blades.
DRUNK DRIVERS - Do you like cars?
BOY - I think I'm going mad!
DRUNK DRIVERS - We can give you a car, we are the speed kings.
Speedy, speedy, speedy, kings of speed!
ORGANIZER - The mad rush led you out of this dreary town,
this is not the right way, but now you want to sleep.
It's midnight and you’ll throw your flashy golden watch
and Morpheus embraces you, and then you dream the swan.
DRUNK DRIVERS - But do you like cars?
BOY - Now, not so much!
DRUNK DRIVERS - Well, we'll let you sleep, we are the speed kings!
Speedy, slimy, misty, steamy, dusty, dirty, sleepy,
dream kings.
I'm a recent Sanguine Hum convert and I can't believe it's taken me until now to discover them! This is a simply fabulous album. If you're a Steven Wilson, Anathema or even a Gentle Giant, Jellyfish or Hatfield and the North fan, get yourself a copy. Great musicianship, wonderful melodies, superb voice, top songwriting. John Ferguson
The new live EP by Ryan W. Stevenson's project reminded me, that this debut album must have been gone down the wishlist... If instrumental Canterbury stuff is your thing, this should be a no-brainer. Firmly rooted in the past (late 60s, 70s), nevertheless with a fresh sound. Guests incude The Tangent's Andy Tillison and Soft Machine's Theo Travis. Carsten Pieper
In 2019, I was in Salisbury and attended the Alphabet Business Convention without knowing any artist. Lost Crowns was my favourite band that played there. Pablo P.
